Who & What? The first transgender royalty.

Where? Atlanta, Georgia.

When? Now.

Why? Why not.

The Duchess of Grant Park started as a short film about a black trans woman who claims the Atlanta neighborhood of Grant Park as her duchy.

Though this character started off fictional, Ava Davis has brought her to life, and with a sense of purpose for the queer community, especially queer youth.

While the concept of the Duchess of Grant Park arose out of a short film, Ava Davis has worked to bring the duchess to life, and in the process to become the first transgender royalty.

Her Grace is an advocate for queer (LGBTQIA+) youth, for gender and sexual minorities (especially persons who are black, brown, & beige), for the arts (theatre and film especially), and ways of increasing equity, access, and inclusion (education, housing, transportation, living wages).

Her Grace speaks English, and conversational Spanish and French.

Her Grace lives in Atlanta, Georgia, with her partner, His Grace the Duke of Cabbagetown, and their pets. When not moonlighting as a duchess, she is also an actress, writer, producer & filmmaker, and photographer.

Her Grace is inspired by Marsha P. Johnson, Lady Chablis, Diana, Princess of Wales, and others.
